|Adding a smoothie to your day can be a healthy and refreshing meal or snack to have throughout your day. It can also be an even better way to start your day than a cup of coffee (don't get me wrong, I love my morning coffee) but if you're looking for something a bit different, a smoothie bowl is the way to go.
This article will share three simple smoothie recipes you can make at home and also some smoothie-making essentials so that you can have an easy time preparing these delicious beverages right in your very own kitchen.

3 Delicious Smoothies to Add to Your Day
During the 17th century, the mind and body were seen as separate entities working within two distinct systems and were treated within a medical model without an emphasis on mental well-being. More recently, the resurgence of the importance of emotional health has resumed and the mind-body connection has been shown to be an important component to an individuals overall health and well-being.
The World Health Organization (WHO) states that "health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity". Considering the sustenance we adsorb into our bodies is therefore directly liked to the state of our mental and emotional health.

All of the following recipes makes 1 smoothie or smoothie bowl. You're welcome to swap any ingredients for your favourite or ones you have on hand (or if there are any allergies of concern).
Most of all, have fun with your smoothie-making! Focus on healthy, but also delicious tasting drinks and you will be whipping up new ideas for your next smoothie in no time.
1. Breakfast Smoothie Bowl
A breakfast smoothie bowl not only tastes delicious, but it looks incredible (think Instagram-worthy photos). After you blend up the smoothie mixture be creative with how you add the toppings with a fun design or just dig in and enjoy.
Blend the banana, 1 cup of the raspberries, soy milk, ice, almond butter, and 1 tablespoon of the honey until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and top with the strawberries, granola, coconut, remaining ½ cup raspberries, and a drizzle of honey. Enjoy!
2. Afternoon Energizing Smoothie
Blend the ingredients until smooth and enjoy!

3. Superfood Green Smoothie
The first time I tried a green smoothie I thought it was going to taste like a blended up salad (talk about judging a book by it's green cover!) - but I remember I was delightfully surprised that it actually tasted incredible.
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Transfer to a glass and enjoy!
