What does it mean to 'listen to your gut'? You might immediately think about that gut feeling you have when you sense danger or you feel a flutter of emotions. Our stomach is closely linked with our emotional health, so it can be super important to pay attention to what's happening in our emotions, and how it might be impacting on our gut health.
From a previous blog post on gut health, Kristen Verschoor-Owens shared here advice on managing a healthy gut, and shared this wisdom on the connection between emotions and the gut: "Negativity creates an unhealthy state within the body. When you’re in a constant state of unhealthy emotions this creates a negative affect on your immune system. 70-80% of immunity is within the gut. If your emotions are in a negative state this will impact your immune system making it weaker." Finding ways of reducing stress and emotional strain in your life can have a significant impact on your overall health, including having a happier gut. Yet, it can also be helpful to think about ways to introduce healthy options into your diet to improve your gut health, too. MSPrebiotic® is the world's best supplement grade unmodified resistant starch from potatoes. This patented natural prebiotic comes from gently dried, peeled potatoes and is grown, processed and packaged in Canada.
How do you use prebiotic? MSPrebiotic® is insoluble in liquids, and must be stirred into beverages and then ingested immediately before the prebiotic settles to the bottom of the glass. For example, a single 10g scoop can be mixed into 80mL of water. After consuming, drink an additional 40mL (or more) of water for optimal results. MSPrebiotic can also be added to smoothies, shakes, or yogurt – the choice is up to you! However, MSPrebiotic loses effectiveness when heated over 60°C (140°F), so it is not suitable for cooking, baking, or consumption in hot beverages.
