I am always looking for ways to reduce waste and help keep the planet healthy, so right away I knew I would like to try out their products. In this blog article, I will share my experience using three bathroom products to see how they compare to the products I currently use on a daily or weekly basis. Keep reading to hear about my findings, and discover if these products would work for you, as well. First Impressions My first impression of receiving the eco-friendly bath products was instantly positive when I saw the packaging that was used. The delivery was entirely eco-friendly, containing of cardboard boxes and zero plastic inside the packing box. So right away this company was living up to it's goal of being friendly to the planet. It was a nice change from receiving packaging made up almost entirely of plastic or non-recyclable material. Now let's dive into my review of the products! Bar Shampoo & Conditioner If I am being honest - I have only ever used shampoo and conditioner from plastic bottles. I have heard of bar soap products for your hair, but I had never tried this type of product before, and I was interested to see if a bar soap would clean and condition my hair as well as traditional liquid soap. When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was the scent. My bathroom immediately smelled like I had stepped into a spa. I felt at ease, even before using the products. I have always adored the smell of roses and this particular scent brings back memories of my childhood, as a close relative in my family always had roses in bloom during the warmer months. The wild rose field scent of these bars is simply incredible! The bar lathered nicely and it was very easy to wash my hair like usual. Sometimes my hair is very hard to comb when wet and after using the bar shampoo and conditioner, I found my comb easily gliding through my hair. I was pleasantly surprised at just how light and soft my hair felt after air drying. I highly recommend giving these two products a try! Wild Rose Field Shampoo & Conditioner Bar Duo: Made with a vegan formula of hydrating and balancing essential oils and amino acids for strength, elasticity, and resilience. Enjoy a refreshing, natural clean with no trace of SLS, silicone, parabens, phthalates or palm oil. Body Bar One of my other favourite scents is peppermint - for example, I drink a peppermint tea nearly every day to help soothe my stomach and to relax before bedtime. So I knew right away I would enjoy the scent of this body bar. It's a very soothing aroma and the collaboration with the natural cleansing properties of tree oil creates an energizing aroma without being overly scented. I do typically use bar soap or liquid body wash, but I often question the ingredients used to make these products. So the fact that this energizing body bar was made without harsh chemicals was reassuring to know that I was not contributing to pollution but also treating my skin properly by cleaning it with natural ingredients. This gentle, zero-waste body wash is lightly fragranced with uplifting tea tree and peppermint oils. Its oil-based formula is ultra-smooth and suitable for sensitive or dry skin types. Cotton Rounds As part of my night time skincare routine, I use a cotton pad soaked with witch hazel to cleanse and soothe the skin around my face and neck. Although I don't often wear make up, I find this evening skincare routine necessary to keep my skin healthy, but also as a form of self-care as I am taking care of myself before going to bed. However, I have often thought about the amount of waste that is created by using even a single cotton pad each night that I am throwing away. Learning about reusable cotton rounds seemed like a simple solution to this problem, but I did wonder how they would compare to my usual cotton pads from the drugstore. The first thing I noticed about the reusable cotton rounds is that there is a soft side and a rougher side. I opted to use the silky side for my night time routine because I am not wanting to exfoliate, however if I was removing make up or dirt, the rougher side would be ideal without being too scratchy. Overall, I really enjoyed using the rounds, and I feel a lot better knowing that I can simply put them in the wash and reuse them again next time. They even come with an adorable travel bag and mesh laundry bag! These reusable cotton rounds are ideal for cleansing, removing makeup, toning and face mask removal! The secret lies in the double-sided design that features a plush velour side that glides across your skin and a terrycloth side that removes tough eye makeup. I very much enjoyed trying out these eco-friendly bath products, and I can see myself continuing to use each product. There is something quite satisfying knowing that your choices are helping out the planet, rather than hurting it.
