|Over the past few years, I’ve delved deeply into the power of our thoughts and how they influence the results we achieve in life. The journey to change those results starts with transforming the way we think – and real transformation is always an inside-out process. Recently, I’ve been working to reframe some old thought patterns that were holding me back. Many of us know the feeling: the persistent thoughts that we are not good enough, smart enough, attractive enough, or talented enough. These self-doubts can feel deeply ingrained, almost second nature. I believe that these thoughts are all too common in today’s world, but I know that we have the power to change them. As someone who has struggled with mental health throughout my life, I know well the challenges it brings. I’ve faced days where I felt stuck, struggling just to get out of bed and wondering if this was all life had to offer. For years, I wrestled with finding my own value in the world and within my own family. I never felt “good enough” and had little confidence in myself. After being a stay-at-home mom for 16 years, I understand the unique challenges that come with dedicating yourself fully to your children. I poured everything into them, to the point that I lost touch with who I was beyond a mother. When people asked what I enjoyed doing in my “free time”, I often found myself at a loss. I had reached a point where I no longer knew what brought me joy outside of my children. By consciously choosing more empowering thoughts, I’ve become happier, more confident, and more willing to pursue the things I once believed were out of reach. This work has taught me that we can shift our thoughts to improve our lives, and it all begins within. Our subconscious mind, which operates below our conscious awareness, holds a vast amount of information, including our memories, beliefs, and habits. This part of our mind strongly influences how we think, feel and act. When we repeatedly tell ourselves, “I’m not good enough,” that message is stored in our subconscious and often becomes a belief. Over time, this belief can impact our actions – or in some cases, prevent us from taking action at all. Through my transformational journey, I have allowed myself to ask an important question: What would I love? I began exploring what I wanted to have, be and do in my life. This mindset shift opened up new perspectives and opportunities. I now understand that my circumstances do not define my potential. One of my favorite reminders is: “You have a history, but you are not your history.” This journey has helped me reclaim my sense of self and I hope it can inspire others to do the same.
